About the Role

WeWork's Regional Security Team in US / Canada East is currently in search of a Manager of Compliance and Investigations. This person should be proficient and highly experienced in the elements of workplace compliance programs as well as investigations. Experience in Workplace/Occupational Safety practices as well as Fire/Life Safety and general security experience is highly desired.

As the Manager of Compliance and Investigations you will be involved in multiple projects from start to finish, working with a variety of inter-departmental groups (e.g.: Regional Operations, Global Security Management, Risk, Legal, Human Resources, Building Operations) to develop and/or implement processes to ensure compliance with matters pertaining to workplace and occupational safety as well as Fire/Life Safety. Additionally, you will be called upon to conduct detailed investigations regarding workplace injuries as well as internal matters that may involve incidents such as theft or fraud. Further you will act to implement crisis management response plans and train team members on same. Externally, you will be interfacing with local emergency service representatives as well as governmental agencies to determine applicable local standards and reporting requirements.
  • Be the Regional subject matter expert for Fire Life Safety, as well as Health and Safety (OSHA or OSHA standard equivalent) globally.
  • Be the regional champion for occupational and fire/life safety standards and ensure every project is in compliance.
  • Implement training programs supporting Fire Life Safety, as well as Health and Safety (OSHA or OSHA standard equivalent) including but not limited to CPR, AED, First Aid, Workplace Safety and Evacuation Planning, etc.(where applicable).
  • Work with internal Learning team to socialize and track training efforts.
  • Be knowledgeable of all applicable local laws and ordinances governing Fire/Life Safety requirements and develop standards to be applied to all new and existing projects.
  • Establish and maintain reporting and recording processes in compliance with OSHA or OSHA standard equivalent for all regional locations.
  • Prepare and present reports to applicable internal stakeholders concerning OSHA or OSHA standard equivalent metrics.
  • Oversee HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) plans, playbooks and procedures for all locations within the region.
  • Promote safety consciousness among employees by providing accurate and informative data, develop safety meeting content and suggestions and visibly supporting the safety program(s).
  • Work closely with regional WeWork Security managers, Safety & Security core and regional teams, and provide insight and guidance relative to your subject matter expertise.
  • Conduct investigations regarding workplace injuries and prepare reports as directed and make recommendations as required regarding workplace injuries to ensure they do not reoccur.
  • Conduct investigations as required and/or directed regarding theft, fraud or other security related matters and prepared related, detailed reports.
  • With the support of the Global Physical Security Team, be familiar with the Regional Crisis Management Plan and be prepared to assist implementation as required.
  • Travel in support of these responsibilities will be required.


  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • 3+ years practical experience in Workplace Safety operations, design and implementation.
  • 3+ years of investigative experience.
  • Previous security industry related experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA (or OSHA standard equivalent) regulations required.
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal form.
  • Strong time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability and experience to develop and implement training material.
  • Experience managing large scale projects with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.

Beneficial Experience

  • Proficient in the following programs: all things Google, Bluebeam, MS Office, AirTable, Slack.
  • Experience using ticket or work order management system.
  • Government/Municipal Agency Fire Life Safety Experience.
