About the Role:

As a collective team brain, the Workplace Strategy group knows all there is about the workplace experience and how to align a company's culture and its space. We have backgrounds in architecture, interior design, data science and visualization, sales, research, technology...you name it! But most importantly, we are an end user advocate : we learn as much as we can about the client's specific business, culture, and space needs, then relay this info to our design, technology and community teams to deliver an amazing work experience for our Enterprise Clients.

The Workplace Space Analyst is a key part of the Enterprise Workplace Strategy team, and will work closely with the insight and design strategists to support on a number of data driven and research driven initiatives as follows:

  • Support design strategist team by owning and maintain a workstream and data flow that tracks WeWork's Enterprise clients' and prospects' existing and proposed space plans, planning ratios and space metrics
  • Responsible for building a space plan master data set and working with Senior Workplace Strategists and the Workplace Research team to extracting insights and patterns using quantitative data analysis that bring value to the Enterprise Client
  • Support the research team in quality control of quantitative research tools and methods that relate to space analytics and utilization studies
  • Support individual client research activities such as interviews and utilization studies on an as-needed basis
This is an entry level role, with room to learn and grow within the workplace strategy team. The Workplace Space Analyst position reports to the Workplace Strategy Lead, PxWe.
The space analyst role is critical to the success of WeWork's 'Space Utilization' and 'Plan Analysis' process. This is a growing service that multiple teams rely on, and the space analyst will ensure a smooth delivery as the service scales. Responsibilities include:
  • Managing all incoming 'Plan Analysis' requests and setting expectations for report delivery time with internal project teams
  • Communicating with a remote team of BIM specialists to manage workflow
  • Organizing and cataloging Clients' existing plans into a master database
  • Prepare teams and launch space utilization studies, and assemble insights that feed into larger research studies for Enterprise Clients.
  • Ensuring top-notch quality deliverables, meeting WeWork's graphic and accuracy standards
    Supporting strategic workplace recommendations with harvested market data

  • You must be able to manage multiple incoming requests and in-progress reports in an extremely organized fashion to maintain project efficiency and ensure quality deliverables.
  • You must be a team player and act as an accessible resource to various teams in the organization.

You are trained as an architect or interior designer, but most passionate about design strategy and the power of data and evidence to guide the design process. You will excel with experience in data science and visualization and planning flexible/collaborative workplace environments.You are eager to bring new and different tools, processes, experience to the table and excited to explain how it is a value to WeWork Workplace Strategy team.

  • Hard Skills - Excel, Indesign, Revit
  • Soft Skills - plays well with others, ability to manage multiple tasks, great organizational skills, committed, hard-working, humbly awesome
  • Experience working with workflow management systems or lightweight databases, e.g. AirTable, SmartSheets, SharePoint
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research into end-user behaviors and needs (to align well with our insights team and research team)
  • Comfortable reading and analyzing floor plans for basic workplace metrics.
  • Equally comfortable with both statisticians and sales professionals
  • Deep knowledge/ and or deep passion for best-in-class corporate workplace programs, and the impact of coworking / workplace-as-a-service trends
  • Organized with an analytical mind with the ability to see the forest through the trees
  • Deep knowledge in space programming and corporate workplace space types
  • Reporting on trends, best practice, while also helping to launch the next great idea
  • A clear (verbal and written) communicator and facilitator between multiple parties
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Architecture, Architecture Studies, Interior Design, Data Science and/or Design Research from 4-year college or university
  • 0-2 years experience
