About the Role
WeWork is currently seeking a communications and sustainability professional who will work on the Sustainability & Wellbeing (S&W) team, in close collaboration with the communications and internal training teams, to establish and maintain clear and industry-leading communications throughout the organization and externally, around sustainability and well-being issues. It will require a combination of hands-on design work, communications strategy, content writing and production. Critical to this role is a keen understanding of (and professional experience with) the psychology of behavior change, specifically as it relates to health and sustainability behaviors.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Report to the Head of Sustainability & Wellbeing
  • Work with cross-organizational teams to establish and implement training programs, communications strategies, newsletters, blogs, events, press releases and other marketing and communications activities.
  • Maintain an awesome internal digital resource for WeWork employees on sustainability & wellbeing concepts and strategies, including records of current and past initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of slide decks, blogs and other content for other Sustainability & Wellbeing team members.
  • Work with the Communications team on external-facing efforts such as media coverage, public announcements, etc.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging and brand for internal and external audiences, aligned with the communications team and the S&W team, across all platforms.
  • Lead the creation of member-oriented sustainability & wellbeing network-building and programs.
  • Work effectively at the global scale, with thoughtfulness and openness towards different regional needs.
  • Be ambitious and creative re: newer content approaches including social media, interactive media, etc.


  • Bachelor's degree in related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience, ideally with 2+ years of experience in consumer-facing sustainability communications or marketing.
  • Experience with content development including blogs, short video, social media management, webinar management, newsletter production and informational website management.
  • Experience with communications including PR and media strategy.
  • Understanding of sustainability concepts such as the circular economy, power purchase agreements, recycling behavior design, biophilia, construction waste management, and life cycle analysis.
  • Experience successfully interacting with professionals working in manual trades, custodial services and other hands-on jobs.
  • Above-average ability to master digital communication tools like blog portals, internal wiki platforms, etc.
  • International work experience is a plus.
  • Ability to influence and to work cross-functionally in support of sustainability team objectives and goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and outstanding relationship building skills at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills, problem-solving, and ability to assess the quality of others' work, particularly quantitative work.
  • Results oriented with an ability to operate multiple projects. A self-starter with superior organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, and effectively manage and meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines with minimum assistance while maintaining a sense of humor.
  • Fluency in English
